Batley started off well playing up the slope. The boys forwards dominated from minute one as Gav Davis, Charlie Sandell, Aaron James, Jake Hickling and Matthew Sheridan set a platform for Josh Clough, Luke Sheridan and Ryan Crossley to control the game. The Boys started out like an house on fire as a try came in minutes as Liam Ward scored before Luke Sheridan added the extras before Josh Richter added another as the points came in a matter of moments as Josh Scrutton was next over the line. Jake Hickling opened his account for Batley before Ripley opened his account for the afternoon & prop forward Charlie Sandell scored to the make the score 34-0 to Batley at half time.
Batley started off the second half as they did the first half with the game flowing in attack and defence as Batley kept Askam at bay following a few sets of defence before the floodgates opened as Adam Allerton opened the second half scoring, Tom Ripley and Dec Tomlinson scored two quick tries before Ripley added his third try for his hat trick to seal the points for batley before a stint in defence helped the score line to nil. Unfortunately captain Gavin Davis picked up a nasty injury who we wish well in recovery.
